Link Shortener

What is the Threadly link shortener?

Quick Answer

Threadly includes a built-in link shortener (Threadly.link) with click tracking, UTM parameter builder, and QR code generation — automatically applied to every link you add to a post.

Every link you include in a Threadly post can be automatically shortened, tracked, and tagged with UTM parameters — all without leaving the composer.

How the link shortener works

  1. Paste your destination URL into the Threadly composer.
  2. Threadly shortens it to a Threadly.link URL (e.g., threadly.link/abc123).
  3. When someone clicks the link in your published post, Threadly records the click.
  4. Click data appears in your Analytics dashboard under Link Clicks.

UTM parameter builder

Click the link settings icon next to any URL in the composer to open the UTM builder. Fill in utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, and utm_term. These parameters are appended to the destination URL automatically — your Google Analytics attribution is complete without any manual work.

QR code generation

Every shortened link has a QR code generated automatically. Download it as PNG or SVG for use in print materials, events, or presentations. Scans are tracked alongside web clicks in your analytics.

Analytics for links

  • Total clicks per link
  • Clicks broken down by platform (which social post drove each click)
  • Click timeline (by hour, day, week)
  • Geographic data (country-level)
  • Device breakdown (mobile vs. desktop)

Custom short domains

Agency plan includes the ability to use a custom short domain (e.g., go.yourdomain.com) instead of the Threadly.link domain.
